Where We’ve Worked

What People Are Saying

“Through our work with Fiona and Jessica, our agency has been able to have in depth conversations around communication and how this communication adds in creating a shared culture. As our agency grows, we have the awesome ability to address on an organizational level equity and how inclusion is put into practice and there have been times that we have made it to uncharted territory.”

“Before working with Healing Equity United there wasn’t an organization-wide framework, expectations and culture to embed race equity and inclusion in all we do. As a result of organizational and individual assessments, we have a solid understanding of strengths we can build on and areas we can improve on, and the results are informing our short- and long-term plans. Fiona & Jess helped us establish a Cultural Accountability team, comprised of staff from across the organization who will help establish and implement the practical steps the organization will take and hold the organization accountable to our REI goals and cultures.

“After we started working with Healing Equity United to address internal gaps and barriers in regards to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), it is gradually becoming part of my daily work practice to include DEIB considerations in program planning. Our board has established an anti-racism committee consisting of board members and staff to proactively tackle wider organizational change around DEIB in the coming year.”

“Our organization was having a hard time understanding how the lack of diversity, equity, and inclusion was impacting our overall ability to do our work and reach our goals. There was also a lot of resistance to change and discomfort with the ideas of DEI. As a result of working with Jess & Fiona, now most (if not all) of our members recognize that there are issues with our lack of diversity. Our DEI task force has become a permanent group, and we are working hard to make the changes that were recommended to us. The topic also comes up in almost every meeting, which shows that there has been a lasting impact. empowered our DEI Team to speak up more strongly and advocate for greater change.

Feedback from Workshop Participants

“I didn't realize that we had a diversity issue in my organization until I spoke with Jessica. It began as a casual conversation about how to elevate the leadership of Asian American women. But I walked away realizing all the frustrations I had been feeling for months was a result of the micro-aggressions I experienced as an Asian American woman in a white and male dominated space.”

“Fiona Oliphant is a masterful facilitator and trainer, a bridge for those seeking to learn about interpersonal dynamics as they relate to equity and social/racial justice. Her warm and inclusive style generates comfort and a deep learning environment. She has a rare knack for encouraging new learning without any of the criticism or judgment that often makes white people hesitate to join racial awareness trainings. Her teachings reach out to a broad range of experiences and skill levels, and offer concrete take-homes that can be applied in a variety of settings.”

— Sherry Z., LICSW

“Healing Equity United helped me go deep within myself to experience my own growth edge and work with it, rather than instructing me about what I needed to learn. This approach promotes creative insights and results in lasting change that can impact organizations in meaningful ways.”
