Racial Trauma – Moving Toward Healing & Solidarity

In a white-dominant culture, all People of the Global Majority experience race-based traumatic stress at varying levels. Healing from and understanding our individual and collective race-based traumas can build bridges for cross-racial solidarity.

During the 2020s, all People of the Global Majority have been experiencing heightened stress and trauma related to racism. Without individual and collective healing, ongoing systemic injustice and oppression can lead to compounded emotional harm. And unfortunately, our race-based traumas can sometimes lead to division within our community.

How can we better understand our race-based traumas to move toward healing? What actions can we take to build solidarity across the Global Majority community?
