Mental health is heavily stigmatized in Asian American communities. And when people try to seek services and support, there is little available even in cities like San Francisco and New York. If we add in elements of intersectionality (ie. socio-economic class, sexual orientation, etc.), the problem becomes much worse.
What are some of the ways we can de-stigmatize mental health and reclaim it as Asian Americans? How can we begin to heal as a community? What are some actions that nonprofit organizations can take to be supportive of Asian American staff and clients?
Join us for this book babble in celebration of Asian Pacific American History Month, and let's dive into this discussion. Leave with some tangible action steps that you can take professionally as we move to destigmatize mental health in Asian America.
